Lurgan Youth Annexe

SAM 0562C

Lurgan Youth Annexe is a youth centre situated within Lurgan Junior High School and funded by the SELB Youth Service. The “Annexe” was built in 1977 as part of a government initiative to engage young people in extra-curricular activities and informal education. Over the years the centre has witnessed many changes and continues to have an integral role supporting young people and community groups across South Lurgan.

Our work is focused on empowering young people for community engagement through youth participation. Partnerships are crucial to support this priority and we work with the following organisations; PSNI, Youth Justice Agency, Craigavon Borough Council, YMCA, Clann Eireann Youth Club, Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project, churches, Youth Reach (Jethro), Youth Justice Agency and local primary and post primary schools.

To date many young people have participated in the various projects, such as; Duke of Edinburgh Award, Cross-Community projects, OCN Accredited Community Relations, Alcohol and Drug Awareness training, Craigavon District Youth Council (CYDC) and Lurgan Youth Ambassadors. We have also facilitated a number of multi-media projects which can be viewed on

Projects are facilitated by our team of committed staff and volunteers. All staff and volunteers have been vetted by Access NI and have participated in Child Protection Awareness and First Aid training.
