Education Restart – Information for Parents and Carers
Letter from the Chief Medical Officer
From: Education Restart Programme To: All Schools, Education Sector Partners Date: 10 September 2020
Dear Colleague,
We recognise that many parents and carers will be worried and possibly anxious about the reopening of schools. It is therefore welcome that we have agreed with the Chief Medical Officer that he would write to parents and carers which we would hope will help alleviate some of their concerns.
The letter, which is attached, outlines actions which should be taken by parents and carers if their children develop Covid-19 symptoms. It is being issued alongside a leaflet for parents/carers with advice on the steps to take if a child or anyone they live with develops symptoms.
We have also attached a second version of the leaflet that can be issued by email and is easier to read on a mobile device.
Can we please ask that you dissemiate these to all parents and carers as soon as it is practicable to do so via your usual contact method.
The letter and leaflet have also been published on the Education Restart section of the Department’s website.
Kind regards.
Education Restart Programme
