TRAFFIC UPDATE – MILLENNIUM WAY EXTENSION

Dear Parents & Friends of Lurgan Junior High School

Please read the latest information from Transport NI.

TRAFFIC UPDATE – MILLENNIUM WAY EXTENSION

Malcolm Road/ Millennium Way

The Malcolm Road/ Millennium Way junction will continue to operate under traffic management until the Millennium Way Extension scheme is completed.

From Monday 27th February, the layout of the junction will change.  Vehicles travelling from Lurgan town centre will now be able to use Malcolm Road and turn right onto Millennium Way.  Vehicles travelling to Lurgan will continue to be able to access the town by turning left from Millennium Way onto Malcolm Road.  This junction will be controlled by traffic signals.

FLUSH PLACE

Flush Place will be temporarily closed to traffic from Monday 27th February to Friday 13th March inclusive. Signed diversions will be in operation.

These temporary traffic management arrangements are required to carry out the Millennium Road Extension works safely.  The road closures are likely to result in delays for motorists in the area and it would be advisable to leave additional time for your journey during this period and throughout the duration of the works. Parents and pupils walking to school are advised to follow the advisory signage provided. All businesses in the area will remain operational.

As the works progress, there will be requirements for further temporary traffic management measures at Banbridge Road and Gilford Road.  Further updates will be provided as the work progresses.

TransportNI will continue to work with the construction contractor, Gibson Bros, to complete the works as soon as possible and will endeavour to minimise delays during the remainder of the works.
