‘Design it, Build it, Use it! Stadium STEM’
On March 25th some year 10 pupils from LJHS attended an event supported by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL). The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the refurbishment plans for Northern Ireland’s three major sports stadiums – WindsorPark, CasementPark and Ravenhill, specifically promoting the science and engineering skills involved in both the redevelopment and future use.
The event featured talks by those involved in the redevelopment, a hands on element showcasing the latest in sports engineering by the University of Ulster and an opportunity for pupils to discuss career paths with STEM ambassadors from a variety of related disciplines including engineering and sport science.
